DOHA: Qatar has been ranked number one in the world for mobile speeds according to the Ookla Speed Test Index. As per the Index, Qatar offers fastest mobile Internet service in the world, with average download speeds almost three times faster than the world average.

The Ookla Speed Test Index compares Internet speed data from around the world on a monthly basis. Data for the Index comes from the hundreds of millions of tests taken by real people using Speedtest every month.

According to the Ookla Speed Test, Qatar’s mobile Internet is the fastest in the world on average mobile data speeds.

The results, which are available to view via www.ookla.com, show that Qatar has the fastest mobile Internet service in the world, with average download speeds of up to 63.22Mbps, significantly faster than the 23.54Mbps average.

“This result from Ookla demonstrates Qatar is truly number one for mobile data services.
