Doha: Indian expatriates can now apply for passports of newborn and minor children at the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC).

The Indian embassy in Qatar announced on Twitter that with effect from March 12, ICC, located in Abu Hamour, will accept passport renewal applications for minors.

Till now, parents had to go to the Indian embassy in the West Bay area for the same as ICC used to accept applications of people above 18 years.

This will be a big relief for many as the embassy tends to get crowded in the morning on busy days. Moreover, ICC accepts application during the evening also, saving a leave from work for busy parents. They are open seven days a week – morning and evening.

ICC charges a small premium of QR10 on top of the Embassy charges for their services.
